She 's got the CROUP

Friday Taytum started having a runny nose and was very stuffy. Friday afternoon we went and bought a really good thermometer and the poor baby had 101 temp. We decided that she should sleep in her swing in our room so we could put her pacifier in faster and would not have to get up and walk to her room. I was up several times from 11 to 4 to suck boogers and re pacify. At 4 I noticed that her breathing was faster and faster and then she started to cough. She sounded like a seal barking and was miserable. I just cried knowing I could not make it better for my baby. At 5:30 we went to the er where they diagnosed her with Croup. They gave her breathing treatments which relaxed her airway and helped her to relax. Then the nurse gave her a shot of steroids. She didn't stop crying after that. She cried till we were done and got back in the car. Then cried again at the house until I put her in her own bed and she finally slept. She has been so sick and crying all the time. She is whining to me now and her voice is so hoarse. I got her to take her medicine this morning but the poor baby is soo soo sick

The Extended Version

Well since I am up a little earlier this morning due to a sick baby I figured I would post an explanation of my previous post or at least the extended version. I can't find my camera cord to download my pictures so I will have to get on Josh laptop to make that post. Well here I go; After a mess with the girl who hit me her insurance said they would not pay to fix our car so we had to go through our insurance. It took them four days to fix our car and Josh had me calling everyday to see when it would be done. The poor people probably thought I was so annoying. We finally got our car Friday evening and had it packed up and ready to go at four thirty the next morning. We had a pretty smooth drive to Farmington, I tried to pump and feed Taytum and learned quickly that that didn't work. Not the right angle and Taytum moves way to much. I think we had more milk on her shirt than in her mouth. We had our first Christmas at Josh's dad Bill and his wife Venyce's house. It was so much fun. We enjoyed being with everyone and getting to see Laura and Brooke and Morgan. We found out that weekend that Josh's step dad Jason's appendix had ruptured and that he was in the hospital in Durango with serious infection from the burst. I think he was in the hospital till after Christmas. Sunday my brother Brent got into town so I took Taytum to meet him. It took her a little while to warm up to how loud Brent was. He scared her a few times and made her cry. Then Christmas eve my oldest brother Derrick and his wife Sallee came from AZ and Taytum took an immediate liking to Sallee. We had our second Christmas with my family. The Christmas program was so beautiful. We did a nativity with some of the great grand kids and it was so fun to watch them have there turn to be Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds. They each did so good on their parts. We had Christmas breakfast at my Aunts house and then home to play with our toys. Josh got a new Jogging stroller and we both got a vitamix from his parents. Josh also got a new video game which was what he did for the majority of the next few days. That weekend we went sledding at my Aunt Teri's cabin. What a blast. I have not got to go for the past several years and it was so much fun. It did show me one thing. I am so out of shape! I loved going down our run but was winded by the time I made it back up the hill. Can anyone say New Years resolution. That Sunday we blessed Taytum in Farmington 3rd ward. It was such a wonderful blessing to have my daughter surrounded by worthy priesthood holders. I will post the pics later. After the blessing Josh's step mom Venyce went to the hospital because she was not feeling well and found out that her appendix had burst as well. Luckily she was very healthy and her body walled off everything before it could get infected. Monday we went to Durango for our third Christmas and had a good time with everyone. Wednesday we went back to Farmington for New Years. We have always gone to the Singles dance and this year we decided we are too old to go again. We will have to do something different next year. While at the dance we ran into Josh's brother Aaron who told us he was headed to the hospital to see Venyce because she wasn't doing so well. She had had a rough day and she almost needed a blood transfusion and was really really sick. My parents watched Taytum while we were gone and they went to their annual Guillory get together. My parents told us that Taytum was the life of the party just talking and laughing not sleeping. My mom said that she slept for like ten minutes at 10 then woke up and was like 'yes the party is still going on!' She didn't go to sleep till they drove home and then woke up again at one in the morning to nurse. The next week was pretty relaxing and we didn't do much, Josh went to a chiropractor in Farmington and was asked to adjust the doctor. He said he didn't do a very good job because he was nervous. Josh adjusted tons of people and got to work on a few people out in the clinic. Josh also had a business talk with his dad in which he told him that he wanted to make 60,000 the first year. Bill said that would be able to happen. They also talked about plans for them working together in the future. Taytum and I got to do some shopping with family while down there. I miss shopping with my mom and sister. They are much more enjoyable than shopping by myself or with Josh. Saturday the 10th we drove home and Taytum didn't fuss till we got to Denton and was only fussy because she was starving. When we got home and eventually got unpacked I realized I had absolutely no food in my house. So off to the grocery store to buy 300 dollars worth of groceries. That is one of the biggest grocery bills I have ever had. Well that is the story and the longest post ever. So pat yourself on the back if you made it all the way to this point.
