We're off to see the wizard

We leave today at 5:40 flying out of Dallas and headed to Albuquerque for the holiday. Then from Albuquerque we are driving to Durango and will spend a few days there before driving down to Farimington. I know Josh is so ready for this break, so this week will be just what the doctor ordered. He deserves it. We are both so pumped for our families to meet Taytum. We are coming back on Sunday night late and then back to the nitty gritty on Monday. We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I have so much to be grateful for this year and look forward to a wonderful holiday. Happy Thanksgiving!

Can I have a mulligan?

So I read the Twilight series right after Taytum was born and really fell in love with the books. I read them all within a month's time. Since the movie came out today I reread the first book to refresh my memory. When it came time to get the tickets Josh said he wanted to go with me and since everyone else had plans I thought it would make a fun date. My only problem what to do with my baby. I could have left her with someone, I even made a bottle. When it came down to it I knew I would just worry about her not taking the bottle and screaming and crying for someone else who shouldn't have to deal with my ornery child. Then I would not be able to enjoy the movie. But since she has been so good the past couple of days and after talking with Katie on what to do with the noise. I decided that she would just nurse through most of the movie no problem. Boy was I wrong. She slept through the first thirty minutes then woke up so I tried to nurse. I obviously taste disgusting because she just screamed when I tried to latch her on. So I took her down and sat on the ground where I could see the movie out of the corner of my eye and be exposed without anyone seeing. (Taytum did not like the nice cover I have) No that did not work either. Then Josh took her out trying to make her happy so I could enjoy the movie I have so been longing to see. Nope she still cried. I tried nursing her in the theater, nope. Then I took her down to the women's bathroom, sat on the floor and proceeded to have my daughter scream at me and not nurse for a good twenty minutes. Missing the romantic part of the movie. Then I put a blanket over her head and my shoulder and swayed her to sleep. I managed to keep her quiet till the end of the movie. By the time we got home my scheduled child had missed a whole feeding was starving to death and still did not want to latch on. She has been constipated lately and I am not sure why. I know babies slow down but we are getting one poop a day if we are lucky. Does anyone have any advice to get my daughter to poop. I tried working her legs and rubbing her stomach and I am starting to get frustrated. When she doesn't poop she doesn't like to eat. ARGH it has been a viscous cycle. So today I am wanting to go back to bed and wish that I could start all over.

Taytum's new discovery

Taytum has discovered her tongue this week. I have caught her several times wiggling it in and around her mouth. It is so hilarious to watch her. I ask her to show me her tongue and she sticks it out just a little. It is so fun to watch her as she discovers new things and the excitement she gets from figuring out what she can do. The best part is that when she makes us laugh she gets all excited and starts to laugh and just smiles and smiles.
